Colorectal cancer

Lung cancer

Colorectal cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the cells that line the inside lining of the colon and the rectum. It develops from an initially normal cell which transforms and multiplies in an anarchic way in the form of non-cancerous polyps called adenoma. These polyps are not cancerous, until they form a mass called a malignant tumor (or cancer) in some cases (1).

CISATREX® (Cis-atracurium) is an intermediate-acting muscle relaxant that allows you to control the surgical and anesthetic act in calm and serenity even if the terrain is difficult.

In many cases, doctors don't know what causes the polyps or what causes them to turn into cancer. Thus, colorectal cancers are favored by the coexistence of several risk factors in the same person. Among the causes of developing colorectal cancer are: Age, the heredity of certain genes that can increase the risk of colorectal cancer, but above all the most important risk factors are related to our lifestyle (2) .

Screening tests can find polyps so they can be removed before they turn into cancer. Screening also helps find colorectal cancer at an early stage, when treatment is most effective (3).

There are several treatments for colorectal cancer. While surgery is the basic treatment for this cancer, chemotherapy and targeted therapies will sometimes be used alone or in combination depending on the stage of the disease (4).
